Crafting non-magical items

Crafting an item requires skill, materials, money, and time.

The requirements for crafting an item are:
1. The appropriate tools.
2. The necessary skills/ proficiencies for the using the tools.
3. Raw materials in sufficient quantity and quality.
4. A work area /workshop where the work can progress with out being disturbed.

The cost of materials equals half the item's sale cost.

The number of 5 day workweeks to produce the item is half the item's sale cost divided by 50gp. Additional workers can reduce the time in some cases, but these additional workers must meet the skill /tool requirements.

Manufacturing

Example 1.
Jaren the Brawny desires a suit of Full Plate Armor. Jaren goes to Durst Smithworks in Corktown and negotiates the entire staff of 10 to work on his armor.

Plate Armor = 1,500 gp. 750 gp labor & 750 gp material. If only Master Durst worked on the plate it would take 750 /50 = 15 weeks. Since the entire shop of 10 skilled smiths are working they can produce (50 + 9*25) = 275 gp value per week. 750 /275 = 2.7 weeks.

Example 2.
Kharrigg Graetgog, Forge-priest of Morem - the Dwarven Allfather has been given a task from Morem and begins work on a suit of Full Plate Armor. As a forge-cleric Kharrigg can create 100 * 5 = 500gp of labor each week. Kharrigg completes the work in 750 / 500 = 1.5 weeks. Note that Kharrigg is faster than the Durst smithworks, but he consumes an additional 750 gp of material to work this quickly. See XGE page 19.
In each example the tools, skillsets, workplace and materials are required at the start of the work and must be available for the duration.
