Elf - Sindar

The Sindar Elves are sometimes called the Snow-Elves.

In the Fey-wild their homeland is the great island of Thule. On dunia, the Sindar have made great outposts in Sundland.

In Thule centuries ago the Queen of Ash and the Prince of Frost allied with the Dark Elves and combined their armies to seize the Sindar capital and capture the Sindar Queen of Winter. The Sindar formed the Court of Spears as a government in exile to lead the effort to recapture the capital and rescue the Queen of Winter.

In Sundland, the situation is dire. A powerful Githyanki clan clan has declared emnity against the Sindar in Sundland. The Sindar have retreated into their fortress and are now enduring Githyanki bombardment.

Every Sindar elf is a warrior. Arcane skills, martial skills are all needed to defeat the Prince of Frost.

Sindar elves speak Elven (the common language of the Fey-wild) and Common (common language of dunia). With a Sindarian accent.

Common Etiquette Rules

A Sindar Elf who has lied to another Sindar, or has broken a promise has their hair cut. The Sindar both male & female, keep their hair in a topknot. The first topknot is part of the rite of passage from youth to adult for the Sindar.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Sindar usually will have their heads uncovered despite the cold, so anyone they appoach can be assured they are not an Ice-wraith. Ice-wraiths can't disguise their eyes. The Sindar do not trust anyone who conceals their face.

History

The Queen of Winter is the Arch-Fey queen of the Sindar Elves. Her son, the Prince of Frost, wanted to rule. During the age of the Dark Elves, he formed an alliance with the Queen of Ash (a Dreadlord from the Shadowfell) and the Dark Elves to overthrow and imprison the Queen of Winter.
The Sindar elves have been focused upon driving the Prince of Frost from the capital and releasing the Queen of Winter ever since.
