General Cosmology

One theory on how everything came to be.

An overgod considered a question on good, evil, and free-will and decided to test his ideas. He extended his power and created 10,000 gods. The overgod chose the wisest of the gods to be the Emperor of Heaven and gave him a scroll describing his plan and providing the Emperor with instructions.
The Emperor studied the scroll, and made appointments in Heaven, assigning the 10,000 gods to their stations and tasks.
At first, the gods all set about their tasks of building the palaces of Heaven and their assigned pieces of the world. Most found delight in the creation of their assignment. A few were unsatisfied and tried to usurp the creations of others. A few thought their plans were grander than the Emperors and ignored their instructions to create their own visions. Initially, the Emperor's ministers asked the wayward gods to return to work on the plan and a few did, but many did not. After a time, this discordant rebellion could not be overlooked and the Emperor arose from his throne and cast out the unrepentant gods.
The Emperor's power changed those cast out of Heaven, and Hell was created to hold these Fiends who would now be known as Devils or Demons.
When the gods had finished their creations, the Emperor again consulted the scroll. Directions were again sent from the Emperor's Palace to instruct the gods on how to bring their creations together. However with the loss of some of the gods who rebelled the work was not complete, so the gods created patches for the missing pieces. While they were making the patches, the Fiends in Hell, tried to join into the creation, and some were able to find a tiny hole to enter creation.
So this is how the world with the myriad of things and creatures came to be.
The Heavenly Emperor then gave every god a task and responsibility for caring of the world. The loss of the rebels and some gods deciding it was time to rest, meant some gods had to do the work of several gods. The Emperor's ministers went about the palaces of Heaven trying to keep the gods at work on their appointed tasks. Some gods went back to work and some gods went back to resting or playing as soon as the ministers left.
This is how the world with some things very orderly and some helter-skelter came to be.
