Gnomes

Before the creation, Edite, created the race of Gnomes and then went looking for a realm for them to live in. She couldn't decide which would be best, so some she placed in Arden, the land created for the Elves and some were placed in Bierboldahr and the First Dwarves. Those Gnomes who went to live in the forest lands of Arden became the Telvanni Gnomes and the Gnomes who lived among the hills and crags of Bierboldahr became the Tairqiendi Gnomes.

Gnomes find debate and arguments invigorating and a Gnome will argue both sides of disagreement just to prolong the argument.
A quick witty comeback is truly pleasurable to a Gnome, whether giving or receiving the remark.
A Gnome may work for several years to pull off a well-designed, specfically targeted prank. The Gnome language has multliple words for describing a relationship to detail how personal, or "close to the bone" a prank can be used.
