Faux Molder brings a gentleman to the Heroes to discuss a business proposition. Cyril Pembleton requests a Vow of Silence from the Heroes before begining his tale. After some discussion, the Heroes take the Vow.
Cyril wishes the Heroes to enter the South Camp and "rescue" his son, Dennis Pembleton who is spending far too much time with a fortune teller named Baggy Mildred. Cyril offers 50,000 gold pieces for returning his son and keeping silent about the deed.
The Heroes decide to take the quest and make preparations. In a few days the Heroes have collected two wagons and filled them with basic foodstuffs. Escorting the wagons the Heroes enter the South Camp. After the food has been distributed without incident the Heroes surround the hovel of Baggy Mildred. The other locals disappear.
Ferzith and All the Light Touches enter the hovel, finding Dennis Pembleton, Baggy Mildred and a second old woman, Ragged Tonya. Ferzith has his fortune read for 6 pieces of silver. The two heroes decide to leave the hovel to inform the other heroes, who having surrounded the hovel are waiting for a signal to proceed. Ferzith casts Dispell Magic upon Dennis. Dennis is outraged by the act and accuses the heroes of being mercenaries in the hire of his father. Dennis trys to get the heroes to take the key to the Pemleton business vault and leave him with Tonya. When the Heroes refuse Dennis' offer, Dennis tells Tonya to flee and he will hold off the mercenaries.
Ferzith, Dennis, and All the Light Touches step outside, with All the Light Touches holding the door open. Dennis cast a Sleep spell which affects no one, and the Heroes restrain Dennis with a combination of spells and ropes. The Heroes grab the restrained Dennis and bundle him in one of the open wagons to take him to his father.
Darien lags behind to learn important details by speaking with a nearby shrub.
Shortly thereafter, the Heroes give the trussed up Dennis to his father and recieve bank notes for 50,000 gp.
Ferzith wonders if the Fortune Teller's remark about choosing between Love or Money had anything to do with todays adventure.
