In the ages of pre-history the Dark Elves sought to conquer the gnomish kingdom of Gos Tolmuft. To face the Dark Elf legions of Half-Orcs, and Dragonborn the gnome inventors created clockwork soldiers. As the war progressed, the gnomes were desperate to improve their soldiers and they created the Warforged.

Gos Tolmuft fell to the Dark Elves and the gnomes were scattered across the lands, and the secrets of creating the Warforged were lost.

But not all the Gos Tolmuft’s Warforged made it to the battlefield. Containers are still being found, deep within the earth, or floating on the ocean. Opening a container usually activates the Warforged inside.

One rumor says the Artificer’s of Gos Tolmuft created a master device, a machine that could produce the Warforged and hid it from the Dark Elves before the end of Gos Tolmuft.
