Valaraukar Half-Orcs.

The Valaraukar are a tribe of Half-orcs led by the god Haknir and his seven sons.

In the northern regions of Virendas there is a 3 mile diameter canyon called the Hellpit. The Hellpit has a portal to the Shadowfell. On the Shadowfell side several times a year a portal is aligned to one of the planes of Hell. When the portals are aligned, demons rush through to reach dunia. They are met by Haknir, his children, and the Valaraukar.

The Valaraukar have streamlined their culture to be as efficient as possible to fight demon armies two or three times a year. Things that do not contribute to winning and surviving those battles have been minimalized. The Valaraukar live in a nearly communistic society. Tasks are given to those able to perform those tasks. Goods are provided to those who need them.
The defeated demons often drop gold and other valuables, which the Valaraukar use for trade. Dwarven made arms and armor brought by trade caravans from Detroit have made the Wayne family very wealthy.

Hold your shield up to protect you and the soldier on your left. Trust the soldier on your right.
Among the Valaraukar having more than you need would be depriving someone else in the community, who then might be a weak link in the defense.
