The Beast of Argenveil

Stories plague the small villages that remain on the outskirts of the Realm of Argenveil. Stories of a living shade lurking on the edge of town, waiting for someone to get close. Missing family and friends become common and soon they aren’t just stories. There was an unknown force, a sinister force targeting the already burdened communities of a dead nation. 
Action was not taken for months. Nothing was done until the day Ulm 4, 21st of Honormaw, in the year 1023 Post Crunin, on the cusp of Everbite, the day two adventurers - an exiled priest and a monster hunter, happened to meet in the town of Shale seemingly by random chance. Would this pair be able to stop this monster?
