Moonlight-on-Spring-Tide
Moonlight-on-Spring-Tide was the first coastal ulan, born an abyssal ulan. She was born as Sharp-Eye-Quick-Beak's-Third-Daughter, a low ranking overseer of her mother’s scavenging parties. Her mother’s realm was in the western Torvalen Sea, some eighty kilometers offshore near the continental slope of northern Kalmasa. Knowing she was not well favored, given her more kind predilections towards her brothers, and would likely be killed eventually by her younger sisters, she planned her escape.
When the time was right, she fled with her twenty males. Twelve were her brothers, six her uncles and two were captured males from the neighboring queendom. All were intensely loyal to her. She had been secretly using her own venoms to biomorphically reverse the treatments of her mother that reduced their intelligence and made them smaller and docile.
Moonlight became the first Ama and after establishing herself, spent centuries directing rescues of more of her people from the depths, converting them to coastal life and seeding new communes elsewhere in the Torvalen Sea until, shortly before her death, the entirety of the sea was ringed with the communes of her daughters and granddaughters.
