Rik

A rik among the Jolnir is commonly the leader of a region consisting of clans led by the theotar. This land is known as a rikja. Among the Brynir and Thalkunir, the riks are chosen by the theotans. The Skjoldir have a similar system, except that the rik of Rotskjoldland province is appointed by the Kalmasan Samraj, who will usually follow the known wills of the riks if they are in agreement. The Ostir theotar are the final authority in their land. The Vandir have no riks, only theotar, however some theotar of powerful clans or great reputation wield influence equal to that of a rik among the nomadic people.
