Rikja

Rikja, (plural Rikjar), is the term for the feudal kingdoms of the Jolnir of Heimval. Rikjar are headed by a rik. In most lands, the rik is chosen from among the ranks of the theotar, the chieftains of clan holds and settlements, from among their ranks at a council called a Rad. The theotar swear to remain faithful by Thalkun to the chosen Rik as long as he may hold faith with them and to the people. To him they contribute warriors and the food and wealth to provide for them to protect their collective interests.
