Ibris' Hammer
Ibris, the Thunder God
One of the strongest.
But also a bit of a maverick.
Ibris is the Thunder God of the Rethium pantheon, and some have rightfully considered to be a bit of a wild card.
He is the holder of a stone hammer that was crafted for him by the Dwarves of Highdarth in the Dlehrphhraeeln, and this same hammer was infused with the magical properties of the Lefestone that can be found underneath the grand capital city of the Dwarves, which they fused with hundreds of runes to increase the power of the Hammer when used in the hands of Ibris during battle or as a means for extremely fast travel not only to and from the mortal realm, but between any of the realms and the mortal plane of Tarris Six and Rethium as well.
This hammer is also known by Ibris himself as 'Sle'hth' or 'Blight', and is named for the fact that it's power is enough to cause severe burns and other amounts of damage to whatever touches it, and as long as it is held by Ibris which, to the not-surprise of many, this hammer cannot be held by any other than Ibris himself due to the runes and magic that were forged into the hammer by the Dwarves of Highdarth.
It becomes extremely heavy to the touch when those unable to harness the hammer's power attempt to lift it, and yet it becomes just a normal hammer when lifted by Ibris himself, although there have been plenty of occasions in which the gods have contested his ability to confidently and properly wield the hammer, the fight between Brewsar the Giant and Ibris himself being one of those occasions.
It was a fight between the powers.
Ibris had been in a bad mood having been teased by the other gods over the past few days or more about his abilities and personality as the Thunder God, and had been feeling down on his luck in the recent times, promising that he would soon show them just what he was capable of in order to restore his honor in the pantheon and to finally bring an end to the teasing and fun-making that the other deities had been putting him through. It was to be the end of their shenanigans that day, as soon as he found just the right enemy to vent his anger and frustrations.
Unfortunately, it would also be the end for Brewsar and the Giants.
A long story made short, Ibris went over the edge during the battle, and allowed his anger to channel too far and too deep into the hammer he wielded, and in the end of the fight that day, he had not only killed Brewsar with a single powerful blow that rang through the realms and even alerted the gods in the pantheon, but he had fought so hard against the Giant that his throws had killed all other Giants that had brought themselves too close to the fight. It didn't take much longer for Ibris to realize what he had done, and it wasn't much longer after that that he willingly allowed himself to be banned from the heavens for what he had done that day, even though they said openly that should he wish to come back, he was welcome to do so at his leisure.
All the same, it is known that Ibris never did return to the pantheon due to the fear of being that much closer to the damage he had done in the home of the Giants, and it is believed that he wishes to become more mortal, similar to the Elementals who are nigh-mortal beings save for their ability to channel the various elements as their own personal limits of power given to them by the Gods.
It is not uncommon to see Ibris about many adventurer guilds and taverns with his trusty hammer, looking for a group with which to travel if only to see the world and to get himself further and further away from the dangers of the heavens and the surrounding realms.
