Opronians/Farmers
There are over a possible ten million or more residents spread throughout the country of Opron in the eastern region of Rethium.
And all of those citizens are known as Opronians, or are also called Farmers, due in part to the expansive amount of farms, fields and other crop-related locales within the country. True to their name, they most commonly began their traditions around farming and crops of all known kinds in the beginning years of their inhabitance of the eastern country, and even so many thousands of years of life in the country, they keep true to their demonym by maintaining countless fields of wheat, corn, pumpkins, carrots, potatoes and whatever other crops have been deemed necessary to upkeep the populous of the country.
Despite their title, Opronians are not a single race.
Of the millions of inhabitants of Opron, there are members from many races. Psedi, Kitsune, Human, Fielne, Felt, Orc, Elf, and all possible others, each and every member of the cities within Opron have gained their title by birth within those borders. The custom also seems to have followed through by the fact that, should another member of a race wish to immigrate to Opron to begin living there, a knowledge test must be taken before an identity card can be forged with their name, race, ethnicity, age and other details transcribed on it to be given to the new potential resident. This system simply allows the person to be recognized as a legitimate individual from the country or from one outside of Rethium, as well as an individual who has legally resided elsewhere and has surrendered their details to the customs board which is responsible for allowing them inside the borders of the country. The customs boards are also known to check the identification cards belonging to other members of the same race so as to confirm their race, name and other legal details, and to discern whether or not they are residents of another country simply residing inside Opron for business or other temporary means. Members of society who are known to have come for means of education or apprenticeships are considered illegitimate residents of the country and therefore do not possess as many legal rights as official members of the country do. Some officials contest these limitations as restrictive to those residing even for a short time in the country for whatever purpose, but it seems as though this title distribution has not been - and may never be - contested to the point of changing legal and social matters in the country.
One such limit resides over the right to vote for elected officials. An inhabitant from Aswary attending an institute in Opron cannot legitimately vote for the newly elected member of the institute's board of officials save for by a Phantom Vote, which is simply to recognize the individual as taking part in the vote while not possessing any permanent influence into who is elected. Again, this may seem restrictive on the part of the individual placing the Phantom Vote, but it seems that those who cast them do not oppose the matter much, as they understand the fact that they are only residing temporarily within the country for their education and for no such legal matters as electing someone under whom they will not serve or reside for a long period of time.
They do however possess the rights to purchase alcoholic beverages, make appeals in court, serve jury duty, to use public facilities and even withdrawal money from a temporary bank within the country of their temporary residence, but many avoid doing so because it results in money being owed as student loans which must be paid for by those temporary residents before they are declared null. Unfortunately, this results in many college or institute students taking on temporary work within their city in order to pay for those loans, which often results in extended residency in said city within their country.
An inhabitant within Rethium cannot be declared as a resident of two countries, meaning they cannot be an Opronian at the same time that they are also a registered Aswarian. In order to be considered a legitimate resident of a new country, they must declare this when filing for new citizenship in their new country of choice.
