Somersloop

There are millions of planets in the universe.
And every single one is unique.
But there is one planet in the galaxy beyond Tarris Six that has perplexed many scientists for centuries and more, and even though many comprehensive studies have been performed on it over time, nothing conclusive has ever come back to the scientists who formed those studies.
The scientists of Tarris Six have sent dozens of probes to this planet in the distant stars, but only once in history has something ever come back.
The two planets seemingly made contact only once, many centuries ago, and ever since the distant body has been dormant and silent to the world outside of itself.
The year was fifteen-thirteen, and the country was Aswary.
The planet of Aeehrthhaem is located beyond the reach of Tarris Six and it's system, and is as of the current time considered a dead and decaying world from the long ancient past. It is a terrestrial planet located as third from it's sun and is believed to be in it's final stages of life. There once existed many species of animal and plant life on this ancient world that have since gone extinct or been simply destroyed by the passage of time, and one of the greatest races of creatures were known simply as The Hominals, or are known to storytellers as The Ancient. This world was once thought to have housed a great amount of life for the many species that lived there, but evidence of studies made about the world from Tarris assume that some great catastrophe, a possible war or other mass extinction event, must have taken place and wiped out the planet. The sky above is littered with countless metal objects drifting endlessly through orbit, amongst them a decayed and broken space station roughly the size of a football field in size and some four-hundred-fifty times heavier than the average transport vessel used on Tarris Six, especially in the modernized country of Aswary.
And in Fifteen-Thirteen of the years of Tarris Six, this ancient world sent it's first - and possibly only - message of contact to it's distant neighbor.
In the yard of astronomer Cepheus Circinus, a large object made a crash landing in the early hours of the night. This object, made of an unknown material - although thought to be a stone or metal composite of some kind or another - stood roughly three and a half feet high at it's tip, and weighed an astronomical full ton of weight, requiring the strongest of horses and their carts to carry it to the nearest scientific establishment to be studied. It measured approximately two feet across from side to side, but was comprised of a strange shape that Tarris had never seen before or that had ever been naturally generated. This strange object was also found to have a strange magical field, being able to lift small objects with extreme ease and even those who stood around it, although they were only lifted a few inches compared to the several feet of other, smaller objects. The artifact gave off a strange reddish hue that was constant, and a very small electrical field could be felt emanating from it's surface, being generated by unknown means from deep inside the object. The scientists who discovered it and studied it cast many curiosities as to it's origin and use, but none could be conclusively reached even weeks after it had been secured inside of the home of the scientist who had first discovered it. At first it was simply known as "Circinus' Stone" by those who knew of it, but at some unknown point in history, Circinus himself quoted:
"I do not know of the origin of my own thought as to the name of this strange object, but of this I am certain. It is known by another name which has no meaning, and it is required to be called as such from henceforth and throughout time." Thusly, he dubbed the object to be known as the Somersloop.
The object is now being held in a laboratory in Aswary, in an officially undisclosed location to keep the object secret and safe from the public who may have other views as to the possible use of the strange object. Over the course of modern history, twenty-five other objects have been discovered on Tarris Six in different regions of different continents, and all have been transported to labs or other locales to be contained and studied for their properties and possible uses, as well as the origins of the matter and the energy they contain.
The distant planet of Aeehrthhaem sent one last artifact before it was claimed by the star that had once given it the means for life. In an explosion barely visible from the surface of Tarris, the sun of this ancient planet expanded and exploded violently, and afterwards, the energy that had originated from the planet ceased. The objects however continued to emit their own energy source, and constantly so, as if one last cry for help was being wrung out of the artifacts before they - and their mysterious civilizations - could be lost forever to the silence of time. The sound emitted by the object is similar to the Morse Code signals used by ship captains and their officers to communicate across vast distances, but the sound and it's patterns are so complex that they have yet to be solved and translated conclusively.
There are in total twenty-six of these objects that have been found on the surface of Tarris Six. The first of these is known as the AmberAmp, while the last is known as the ZunderZon, each vaguely resembling the shape of their respective letter of the alphabet. They are all being held in various labs throughout Aswary to be studied, but the findings - if any - have not yet been made public, and it is unknown if they ever will be.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Unknown. The findings by the scientists who contain and study these ancient objects have not been made public, and there appears to be no incentive on their part to do so anytime soon.
