Session XII - The Religious Ettin Report - 16th of Tulth

General Summary

• After speaking with the Daelkyr, the party left Jolswen and began heading south towards the Jelkelen forest. That night they rested, during which Soren felt a shift in his mental state. His mind was clearer and sharper. The following morning they reached the forest.
• The forest was covered in a deep red fog, emanating from within. As they explored they spotted a pair of Elezian Guards. At which point they headed deeper into the forest. After roughly 30 minutes of walking they heard a fight off in the distance. Upon investigating, they saw it was Valen and some fellow hunters who were in the battle. The party assisted, and vanquished the beasts. Valen and them then joined forces, and proceeded further into the forest.
• After several hours of traveling a blood trail, the group found a man heavily wounded trapped in webs. Seconds after he transformed into a werewolf and attacked. The party and Valen defeated it and its fellow wolves.
• After several more hours of travel the group was stopped by an impassable fog wall. Valen explained how a certain ritual to Celcreath may be able to be rid of the fog wall. Luckily enough, the group performed the ritual and were successful.
• Within the fog wall and the center of the forest lied a two headed ogre, or an Ettin. Two powerful shrines stood tall empowering this creature. The group engaged. The Ettin used an array of spells, and had regeneration on its side. The battle was long and tough. One member even being brought close to death. But, with group with Valen, were able to fell the great beast. After, the shrines were destroyed. At which point the fog began to lift. On the Ettin was a magical wand. The group however, had was hungry for valuables, and had noticed Valen's beautiful silver longsword. They turned on him, sending spells his way. He began to fled, but was already heavily injured after the fight. Soren flew high into the sky, and sent out a chaos bolt...
