The Old Guard
- The Old Guard are the remnants of the Royal Guard that existed during the rule of Stalar. After the fall, they were the first group to attempt to keep order in the area. They played a vital role in the formation of the Old Stalar union. In current times, the Guard keeps to their old ways. They continue to attempt to keep some semblance of law on the Thairelen coast. When threats emerge they are the first to deal with it.
Structure
- The Old Guard is built in a form of a hierarchy. The ranks going as followed:
- Major General: The Major General is the current head of the Old Guard; they are in charge of running the whole group along with their staff. There is one Major General.
- Lieutenant General: The Lieutenant Generals are the staff of the Major General. They are the ones that give orders to the Majors. They do most of the planning and coordinating of materials and men. There are five Lieutenant Generals.
- Major: There are two Majors each heads of the two other divisions. The Majors job is to run their respective division and to follow orders from High Command. The Majors interpret orders and send them to the men of the divisions. The Guard division Major is in charge of placing the platoons in the different towns and rotating out platoons.
- Lieutenant: The Lieutenants manage the members in their platoon and are in charge of picking the spots where guards will be posted in towns.
- Ranger: Ranger is the rank given to those in Ranger division.
- Ensign: Ensign is the basic rank for those in Old Guard most members of the Guard division are this rank.
Public Agenda
- The Guard promises to keep peace between the towns in the Old Union. As well as defend the safety of the Unions members. The Guard does not swear any allegiance to the old remains of Stalar, which is one of their main criticisms.
Assets
- The Old Guard is run out of the old fort of Frelor, located north on the raised hill in the middle of the coast. Apart from that, they have small encampments littered throughout along the roads and within villages. They have some horseback soldiers, but are limited. They only possess a singular ship, the Purple Nail. It is normally docked in Froldenwal. They possess some wealth, needing to fund the men they employ, as well as sustain all of their above assets. Most of their wealth is obtained through a small tax placed on all the members of the Union.
History
- The Guard was formed from the remnants of the Stalar Guard, after the fall of the Kingdom. They helped to create the Old Stalar Union, and now help to protect it.
