Campaign: Novice Crew

Novice Crew is a mini-campaign that took place in The Umberlee Isles also popularly known as the pirate Isles. The campaign centered around a recently formed pirate crew which had gained some renown and due to their new-found fame were given a serious mission by a hugely notable pirate crew.

Pre-Adventure

In Crab, one of the pirate counties, a completely new pirate crew was formed of an okay number of 11 souls. The crew, lead by the tiefling sailor, Captain Girstern, deemed themselves the Sea Hound Pirates. On their first ever outing, the crew followed a treasure map left behind by an infamous pirate captain and in opposition to what 9 out of 10 rum-sipping pirates would say the map actually brought the treasure-hunters to their bounty, but it came with misfortune as well. Right as the crew had found their treasure, a different pirate crew showed up and the two crews began fighting and as a result there were only 4 survivers, all from the Sea Hound pirate crew

Summary

The remaining 4 members of the Sea Hound Pirates, having gained some renown, but not enough to be known in different pirate counties, were given a mission by the Undertaker Pirates to steal some valuable gems called dragon shards from a warehouse in Shark. And so the crew embarked on a spree of information-gathering spanning much of Crab and Shark, going all across the Ta'al island, speaking to a gambling addict, negotiating with an owner of a casino, talking to a minotaur who wouldn't give information up without a fight, battling a rival pirate crew which got both groups teleported to a mirror dimension and then a stranded island, the group even met and found out that their former pirate captain hadn't died but instead had left the battle in shame, having lost his leg. With all of the information they needed gathered, the Sea Hound pirates robbed Harlowe's werehouse, got the dragon shards and succesfully brought them back to the leader of the Undertaker Pirates. Having completed their mission the group proved themselves and were offered to join the Undertaker Pirates, which most accepted.

Aftermath

At the end of the campaign the leader of the Undertaker Pirates declared that Crab would be going to war with Shark and as such the pirate forces of Crab, under the leadership of Undertaker Pirate members are uniting into a large singular naval power to take on the forces of Shark.
