Solples Taianel
Solples Taianel was a holy ritual performed in a few towns and cities in Henmire, most notably Brelhorn and a bit less in Frelhar.
The ritual is held by the clergy of The Sun God, forming a large fire in which the clerics undergo chanting and prayer to the Sun God asking for a champion in the form of an angelic being to come down and join them in their civilization to help them with protection and expansion of their religion.
The ritual and tradition ended with the massacre of Brelhorn in which the religion of the Sun God, in Hemire at least, ceased to exist.
History
In the Year 826 AIC in Henmire, in the zealously religious town of Brelhorn, the large church of The Sun God and its followers were doing their annual ritual in honour of their deity - The Sun God. They had assembled a giant fire as they always do, followed by a prayer spoken by the head priest - Oswald Hunt. This year though the prayer was different as it involved communal chanting and increased amounts of divine magic and most importantly a part of the speech was a request to the Sun God, but unlike the usual requests that go along the lines of "...bring high sun for the flora to flourish... bring hot sun during the drying season... please do not stray too far during the winter quarter", the request this year was to have a divine champion of the Sun God be sent down to his followers to protect them, aid them in crusades and to assist in spreading the word and image of The Sun God.
The ritual was successful and Redal, a divine angelic champion was sent down to Rexweld where he, following orders of the clergy hugely assisted in their divine work.
For the next year, Brelhorn's crusaders with the help of their angelic champion Redal were all lead on numerous crusades around Henmire and the surrounding lands by the leader of the crusades, a powerful paladin named Elric Hunt, son of the head priest of Brelhorn - Oswald Hunt. Although many of the battles against the dark creatures and heretics seemed difficult, the crusaders had become an unbeatable force with Redal by their side. One of the locations the crusaders purified was Brequil Manor - a village ruled and protected by a family of monstrous royals. This manor had always been problematic for Brelhorn and Frelhar, the city that Brelhorn is under, for the monsters and their people living in the manor controlled the surrounding area which included a road leading from Frelhar to Montnar - the sea area between Amber Sea and Casper Sea, which meant this was a valuable road blockaded by a family of monsters. This made Frelhar send a spy to infiltrate the manor as a lowly peasant wanting to join this village. A day came when the peasant learned that the monstrous family, decided to go on a vacation, for the first time in recorded history, going sailing the Casper sea. When the crusaders were given this information, they were able to wipe out the defenceless heretics.
Once the Brequil Manor Nobles returned to their desecrated home, they were furious and immediately rampaged towards Brelhorn seeking revenge for what the paladins had done. They first arrived at Pebbleton - a village on road to Brelhorn, where some of the crusaders having returned from their ventures were resting. They killed these crusaders and the other peasants in the village. They continued their march to Brelhorn where the second Solples Taeanel was taking place since a year had elapsed since Redal's summoning. The Brequil Manor royals snuck their way to the church, met Jason Hunt, a cleric who was Elric Hunt's brother and Oswald Hunt's son. He, being disgusted by the actions of his family and entire clergy, betrayed them and helped the monsters. First, by disabling the Sun God's divine beam, disabling it's empowering effect on the devout of Brelhorn, and secondly, by telling them of the visions he'd seen of the Sun God's fury, revealing that he thinks the Solples Taeanel will go wrong and that the Sun God will unleash his wrath upon his father and the rest.
With that information the Brequil Manor Royals stayed in watch from afar, viewing the large fire ritual, where Oswald Hunt was greedily asking for a second champion to be sent down to aid his followers even further. The ritual seemingly was successful as from the large fire another large angelic being sprung forth - a flaming female angelic being called Vretiel... As Jason had seen in his dreams though, the ritual did indeed go wrong, as Vretiel channelling the fury of the Sun God scolded his followers and then proceeded to unleash flame upon them. As the fight began, many followers, including paladins and clerics died. The biggest spectacle was the indescribably intense battle between brother and sister, the battle between Redal and Vretiel, 2 angels, each with different views, each with different reasons for having been sent down to His followers. The Brequil Manor royals were fighting paladins and clerics including Elric Hunt, who died in the battle, Vretiel was fighting Redal, and Jason, who had stayed at the church, fought his father who had fled from the bloodshed. The two incredibly powerful clerics went at it but at the end Jason was victorious having defeated his father. Vretiel won her fight as well and with that, the clergy of the Sun God within Brelhorn ceased to exist.
With that, the ritual of Solples Taeanel also ceased to exist having no one except for Jason know how to even perform it.

Execution
The Solples Taianel is held in Brelhorn in the town square in front of the holy church, where a ginormous fire is set up to honour the Sun God. Everyone gathers together and the ritual is begun with the lighting of the fire. The head priest then recites prayers and a speech, asking the Sun God to summon one of his champions.
Participants
All of the citizens of Brelhorn gather in the town square, in front of the holy church to witness Solples Taianel. The paladins and clerics stand proud around the fire but the most important participant is the head priest. At the time, Oswald Hunt was the head priest and the one to perform the prayers and do the necessary speech for the ritual.
Observance
Solples Taianel is held during the longest day of the year, in the summer.

Nice article. Quite interesting idea that the god changed his mind and send a second angel to kill the first one.
