The Sentinel

Jonas Müller, a prominent reporter for the Sentinel, an investigative news outlet in Mainz, was found dead under mysterious circumstances just hours before he was scheduled to testify in court. Müller’s body was discovered in his apartment, with initial reports suggesting an accidental fall. However, the circumstances surrounding his death have raised numerous questions.   Sources claim that Müller’s apartment showed signs of a struggle, and his work bag, containing crucial documents for his testimony, is missing. Additionally, a neighbor reported seeing an unfamiliar figure leaving Müller’s apartment shortly before the body was discovered. Authorities have since then researched these claims and are “reasonably certain” this was a tragic accident and that the person seen leaving the apartment was not involved. Friends and colleagues describe Jonas as being in good spirits and determined to expose the corruption he had been investigating.

Located in of the seedier parts of Mainz, a small but determined group of journalists is waging a relentless battle against the sprawling corruption of megacorporations. This team, consisting of five to ten dedicated investigators, operates under the banner of “The Sentinel.” Despite being severely underfunded, their mission is clear: to expose the dark underbelly of corporate greed and bring justice to the oppressed.
The Sentinel is a ragtag group, each member bringing some unique skills and a lot of baggage to the table. From seasoned investigative reporters to tech-savvy deckers, their combined expertise allows them to navigate the treacherous waters of corporate espionage. However, their lack of resources often forces them to rely on ingenuity and sheer determination to get the job done. And if that is not enough, they still have a few favors that could be redeemed.
Operating on a shoestring budget, the team faces numerous challenges. Their equipment is outdated, their office is a cramped basement with flickering lights and peeling paint, and they often have to choose between paying for information or keeping the lights on.
Despite these hardships, their passion for truth keeps them going. They work long hours, often under the threat of corporate retaliation, to uncover the stories that the public needs to hear. The constant pressure and danger have forged a strong bond among them, making them more like a family than just colleagues.
Over the years, the Sentinel has made significant strides in their quest for justice. They have exposed several high-profile scandals, from environmental disasters covered up by corporate giants to illegal surveillance operations targeting innocent civilians. Each victory, no matter how small, keeps the team going in spite of their struggle against the darkness.

Sit down, my friend, and let me tell you of Aran'sha . A world where the sands shift and the stars sing, where the wind carries secrets and the twin moons keep silent vigil over it all.
