Choira

The best things are worth waiting for, particularly good company and a good meal.   The Choira are a race of Capybara-folk, generally calm and peaceful, with a deep love and respect for all life, with a focus on the the smaller creatures of Gallus. They are friendly and prefer to take their time with things, laid back and kind. Some settlements in Gallus run animal reservations in order to ensure that some of the weaker animals aren't freely hunted to extinction.     Gherri Trees only naturally grow in the areas Choira are native to, which, when tended to properly produce a sweet fruit (the Gherri fruit) and leaves which can be used in healing salves. They take a lot of effort to maintain and have become a huge part of Choiran culture. When a Choira leaves their village to go live elsewhere they take with them a clipping of the Gherri tree they spent their life tending to and keep it safe until they find a place to settle, at which point they plant the clipping and grow a new tree to be tended to. The Choira believe spending time with the Gherri tree and carefully cultivating it helps teach patience, understanding, and perception.
