Progenus

Once upon a time, everything that is was not. An empty nothingness ignored and forgotten. Then came the Elder Elementals. Ancient primordial beings who, though sheer willpower tore their way out of the elemental planes and into this nothing and for a time, that was enough. As the millennia passed by these beings found that their existence was no longer enough, they no longer felt content to continue floating in this endless emptiness that had become their existence. And so finally they came to a decision. Coming together they erupted, giving their collective life force to birth the world itself, the seas, the mountains, the plains, clouds, the winds and more. But that wasn't all the left behind.   From the remnants of the life essence of these primordial beings were birthed the Progenus, the first beings to set foot on the world left to them. Beings born by and in the elements, each crafted uniquely, taking on attributes of the elementals who had birthed them. over time they took grew bored with their own existence, and so they set out to craft many of the races that fill the world today.   Nowadays it is incredible unlikely to see any of this progenitor race, the proverbial parents of most if not all of the creatures native to this plane of existence but those who do oft retell the tales of these folk bathed in flame, brilliant sapphire or emerald hair seemingly carved from the earth itself, eyes that seem to roll and break like clouds, or bodies seemingly containing gingerly rocking waves beneath translucent thin skin.
