Aarakocra

The Aarakocra were once a prized companion, with their natural intellect and aptitude for seeing the things others missed being so much greater than the average for other races.
As the world entered the Adjustment period, the fear of the Aarakocra began to reach a crescendo and much of the populous executed The Pogrom of the Magical, with the Aaracokra and the Kenku being forced off of the mainland.
Aarakocra are few and far between on the mainland currently, with most wishing to make their way to the island where their kin currently reside. They are not currently treated with prejudice but often keep to themselves in fear of being mistreated. They will almost never be seen in the cities and will make their homes on clifftops or other hard-to-reach areas.
The Aarakocra will also avoid using their ability to fly unless in danger or to reach their home as it has become taboo for those on the mainland to use the ability.
