Awane

The City of Flowers

The second city in the Snake region, Awane is in the area called Thousand Lakes. Awane is described as the most beautiful city in Rhunec. The entire city is a giant garden with thousands of small nooks and large parks connect to give the city its name, The City of Flowers. The city is built in interlocking rings and terraces, a veritable maze of flowers, trees, and streets.

Culture

The people of Awane are obsessed with beauty. Every building, street, and corner is decorated with flowers or paintings. People wear colorful clothes in eye popping fashions. The people are incredibly charismatic and are adept in poisons, plant mastery, and persuasion.
Every year there is a flower festival. It’s more of a fashion show. People wear beautiful clothes made of living plants. The winner is the one with the most beautiful clothes and most beautiful flowers. The winner is then invited to be a member of the Claimer's Court and take part in The Game.
This city also follows the Snake culture and Snake School of Magic is prominent here.

Architecture

The architecture of Awane is specifically designed to be graceful and beautiful from every angle. Dark shale roofs with white plaster walls and polished red wood accents are often decorated with paint or even gold leaf. The simple color scheme is specifically designed to show off the flowering tees and gardens throughout the city.
The city is divided into four kankyo, or rings. The palace resides alone in the first kankyo, the inner most ring. Each ring has a main road, called tori, spliting the kankyo in two, the inner and outer kankyo. Each kankyo is divided by a canal, called unga, and are fed by the waters of Lake Notoro. The waters of the canals serve as alternative thorough fairs to the busy main roads.
As awanese people move up in rank, they gain access to lodgings and locations closer to the first kankyo.

Economy

Awane is famed for its spices, ingredients, poisons, potions, and silks. They export their fashion and concoctions. The rarest of ingredients for alchemy are found here. Every trader wants to carry Awane goods, the prestige alone lets them raise their prices.

Armor and Clothing

Most Awanians wear loose robes and kimonos similar to Ido era Japan.

Leadership

The Crown of Awane governs Awane. The current Claimer is Empress Miyata Yasu.
