Isabella is a tool crafted by Mina's own hand. It can be used as a spear, its sharp end is made sharper with a tooth that has been secured to the wood that makes up the shaft of the tool. The tooth is curved, so it's handy when it comes to fishing stuff out of trees or yanking them up out of pits. Anything that's out of reach, Isabella can totally grab it.

Crystal: Are we really indulging her by letting her write this damn article about her fancy spear?

Jude: It might be interesting to whoever comes after us. Assuming anyone finds our remains after we're all dead. Eventually.

Isabella has leather wrapped around the middle of its shaft, which helps with the grip. There's also a looping bit of leather that Mina uses to strap it to her back for easy carrying. Fun fact, Mina killed the animals the leather came from, skinned them, treated and tanned their hides, and every bit of the process of turning it into actual leather herself. Some of the stuff she needed to do all of that was provided by some of her family, however, but this does not take away from that accomplishment. The shaft itself is made of a type of wood that seems to be fireproof somehow and is incredibly hard to break.
Another thing about Isabella is that it is amazing at being a spear. When needed for hunting, for defending oneself, for threatening some animal that thinks you're easy prey, Isabella is there. The perfect tool. It's been by Mina's side for almost four years by now, and it hasn't broken. Truly, no other tool can come close to the abilities of Isabella.

Crystal: A fucking gun might come close.

Mina: A gun has one use. Isabella has many uses. Checkmate.

Crystal: If I had a gun and all you had was your fancy fucking spear, you would not stand a chance.

Mina: I would simply yoink the gun out of your hands with the curved spear point and then stab you.

Crystal: I would pull the trigger before you could do that.

Mina: I don't think you would.

Crystal: You might be the most frustrating person I have ever encountered. I often regret that we both survived the crash.

Mina: I think of you as one of my closest friends, too!

Jude: Crystal, you know you're only encouraging her.
