Combining the best aspects of the desert dwelling elves and the human river folk, the edari were one of the first cultures to
recover after the cataclysm. Edari will tell you this is because of the natural superiority. Other races suggest it may be because
most eldritch storms have blown themselves out by the time they reach the Phoenix Kingdoms. The edari are known for the
wide variety of fruits, nuts, and spices available. Their armorers also make beautiful suits of armour crafted from hundreds of
small plates sewn together. (PF rule: as Half-elf).
Culture
Isolated and protected in their island kingdoms, edari spend almost as
much time plotting between different factions as they do defending
against the dangers of Riesa. Beauty and elegance in all things is
important to Edari culture, and this is obvious in their weapons,
armour, and architecture. Lacking abundant sources of metals, edari
have perfected the art of lamellar armor and favour slightly curved
blades (katana and elven curved blades). A well appointed edari is
usually accompanied by one or more colourful birds (often a parrot or
kakapo) and the breeding of these beautiful avians is a serious industry
in the Phoenix Kingdoms.
Relations
The edari are a proud culture and often see other races as inferior, or at
least simpler. They are amused at the primitive relationships halflings
have with their environment and appreciate the hard-working nature of
most humans and orocs. They find dwarves incapable of properly
appreciating beauty. While gnomes are very creative, they lack the
elegant solutions favoured in edari culture. Of all the other races, they
find the most kinship with the pride of the elves, even though they pity
them the hardships endured in the Blistering Expanse.
