Human
The most prevalent species on the continent. They are resourceful, ambitious, and short-lived, and because of this they jump forward with both feet in. However, they are generally quite suspicious as a people. New or unknown things tend to be a source of fear for them. And while they are able to move past it in most cases, sometimes this fear and wariness of the unknown makes them jump to foul conclusions.
Interracial Relations
Elves: Due to the hard history of conflict between humans and elves, half-elves are ostracized and seen as ill-omens by humans; by elves they are seen as impure or unwanted children.
Orcs: Centuries ago the nomadic orc tribes struck a concord with the human empire. In return for a place they could call home, they would work as hard-labour where needed.
Halflings: Seen in fairly friendly terms. They bond over the fact that they have similar lifespans and similar ambitions.
Dwarves: Very good relations. Dwarves and humans have a kinship in their passion for life and their ambitions. Sometimes the dwarves natural callousness can sometimes rankle a humans pride, but for the most part they have a very strong bond.
Beastials: The more animalistic races (i.e. Tabaxi, lizardfolk, tortles, kenku, racockraa) are known as the bestials, and are often seen as barely above beasts themselves. Humans will begrudgingly do business with beastials, but often the can only find jobs in physical labour or menial jobs.
Tieflings: Tieflings are seen as taboo and disgraceful, as it is a sign that the family has made a deal with a devil at some point in the last couple generations.
Dragonborn/Aasimar: While there are very few in this kingdom, dragonborn are seen as a rare and treasured race. They are often recruited by the army for officer ranks or as aides, in order to garner popularity and increase their status. That being said, different is always a source of nervousness for humans, and while dragonborn/aasimar are seen as a rarity, they are also still looked at with a little bit of fear or tension.
Gnomes: Useful, peculiar, and quite eccentric. They are seen as very intelligent and useful with their imaginative inventions, but humans cannot quite relate to how alien a gnomish mind is.
