Blood Fly
Blood Flies are known to catch the scent of blood and to land and start to consume the blood straight from the wound. They are typically found in the elven forests typically during the hotter months of the years.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The thorax of a blood fly is a reflective red and their eyes are a reflective black. Their wings are a reddish black.
Genetics and Reproduction
After drinking enough blood they lay their eggs in the wound and the egg will burst open revealing a maggot which will burrow into the flesh of the wound and eventually grow to the size of a worm after an hour. The maggot will coil within the host's flesh and will undergo a change into a fly. This process will take a day and the fully grown fly will burst out from the flesh and the process continues till there is no longer any food left for the fly.
