Bloodfruit
A low growing shrub that grows baseball-sized red fruit on stalks. They typically grow 3 fruits for each plant. It often used as an ingredient of most Drastian heath potions and gives them their distinctive red colour. It originates from Dragonblood lake of Darst and grows along the coast of the lake. The fruit consists of a red fibrous husk, which contains a poisonous red flesh and a large seed. The husk is rather thin, with it only being 3 centimeters thick. The flesh has a texture similar to that of a sponge and is tough. The seed is about the size of a plum's pit. When ground and squeezed it produces a thick syrupy blood coloured liquid. This liquid is tart and sweet. It is often used to sweeten drinks and dishes. It is also used to hide the bitter taste of the herbs used in the health potions. It, however, can react poorly with other concoctions making them poisonous and in certain cases, deadly.
