The Black Roar

Three nasty rough-looking pirates sit around a worn-out table in a tavern perched along the docks in northern Drakkengurt. The skinniest of the three pipes up, "Ey, you 'ear what the wenches sayin'? That one over there killed 'is crew to run away with some kinda princess or sumfin." The one without an eye chimes in, "Wha? That's total crap. I heard tha' he fought off all of 'em when they tried to kill a king." The 4 fingered pirate says, "Ye' both are idiots! A kid joined the crew and blew 'em all up with that ermagernation stuff from Mesh!" A rather irritated barmaid walks over to the group and slams a fist on the table. "Shut yer mouths. 'Aint nuthin' good ever come from talkin' about the Black Roar like that." She continues, "Unless you want the white one to come on in and finish you off like he did his crew!"

History

The Black Roar is an infamous pirate crew of five. Nobody knows their names, so various monickers have been created for each of the members.
  • The Black Lion is the merciless Captain.
  • White Mane, the gentle ying to the Captain’s murderous yang.
  • Butch, the Cook. The story is that Butch is a high-end chef that specializes in meat that was kidnapped by the Captain.
  • The Harpoon and The North are gifted twins in their own specialization. The Harpoon is obvious. But North had a talent to always know where true north was.
The one-story that spread like wildfire was the Pearl Job. The Black Roar pretended to be a catering company and then infiltrated a King’s daughter’s birthday party. They succeeded. The freedom of the sea were in their sights but was blocked by the country’s militia. Seventeen ships blocked the open seas. The Black Roar blew their bone-chilling horn. They fought for seven days and seven nights, but eventually escaped with their lives.   They went into hiding. Some say they spilt up the loot. Some say they became a private military. Some say they are still sailing in the wide blue sea. But the latest rumor is that a nation hired them to protect a child prodigy but that nation stabbed the Black Roar in the back.

Disbandment

The story goes on to say that White Mane survived by killing his own crew.
