Unable and unwilling to reconcile with the renegade angels who’d swapped sides during the Angellic Wars, Embora renounced the pantheon as fools and departed.
Embora, the god of Finality and Death, was unwilling to give the pantheon’s former enemies a chance to redeem themselves. At the cost of one of their own, he determined it was only a matter of time before the angels (and the demons they subsequently became) would betray and kill them again. Charon and Embora fought long on the topic, and when the Pantheon put it to a vote to continue working with the angels towards purification, Embora renounced them all as fools, and departed to make his own path towards defense of their world. The conflict deeply scarred Charon and Embora’s relationship, the pair never finding reconciliation. The rift continues to modern day.
