Corrina

Resting at the foot of the striking Anashavi Peaks, the southern mountain range of the Pridelands, lies the picturesque city of Corrina. Corrina is known within the region for its cool mountain weather, making it a frequent travel destination among regional natives who tire of the heat, or who wish to experience snow. This city is the jewel of Pride Snowfoot, with carefully manicured gardens and expertly cobbled streets. The marble architecture is breathtaking from a distance, making the city shimmer as it winds partway up the mountainside. Corrina can be difficult for first time visitors to navigate - narrow streets are built where they can climb the foothills most easily, and many buildings intersect streets at odd angles, simply due to where a flat enough piece of land was available.

Points of interest

  • Terrace Gardens: Near the center of the city and just below the Snowfoot palace lie the Terrace Gardens. The largest park in Corrina, it's a series of ten levels that stair-step their way down the foothills the city is built upon. Each level is separated from the one below by a ten-foot retaining wall of solid marble, though there are stairs for visitors to ascend and descend easily. The gardens have fruit orchards separating them from the side streets, with open grass and flowers in the middle, as well as a small stream that waterfalls down each level before resting in a large pond.
  • Irazza Moonclaw Monastery: Located a half-day's walk up the side of the mountains, this monastery of the Order of the Crescent Moonclaw is a truly breathtaking locale. It overlooks not only Corrina, but hundreds of miles of savannah that sprawls out from the foothills. Many an artist, bard, and pilgrim has walked the steps to this idyllic retreat and asked to quarter with the monks, hoping the peace and beauty will inspire them. A group of locals from Corrina makes the trek up to the monastery once a week to leave food and supplies for the monks, though as winter approaches those trips become more frequent.
