Lyari

Home to Pride Greymane, Lyari is the largest city in the Pridelands and its capital city. Nearly ninety-thousand souls call this city home, and at any given time ten-thousand more are visiting. Lyari's mighty walls, standing thirty feet high, are painted a vibrant array of colors, and feature tile mosaics depicting leonin heroes of the past. The palace rests upon the central hill, overlooking the lively market streets and the Ancestral Grounds - a great gardens that sprawls over a mile and contains a vast variety of fruit trees, flowers, statuary, lakes, and walking paths. Lyari is by far the most diverse in species of all cities in the Pridelands - Leonin make up a surprisingly small 14% of the population.

• Palatial Hill: At the center of Lyari lies a great hill, where ancient Pride Greymane built an encampment to survey the surrounding landscape. Over hundreds of years, the city has grown around it. Now the Palatial Hill is where the king and queen reside in a great marble and stone estate, along with their families, members of court, and visiting diplomats. Aside from the four main buildings, the king's court, and the royal stables, there are pools, a gymnasium, and meditation garden.
• Ancestral Grounds: Resting at the bottom of the Palatial Hill, the Ancestral Grounds is a large garden park that twists and bends a mile in its full length. The gardens are lively but well manicured - hedges and flower beds line the paths, while open green space are shaded by fruit trees and dotted with wildflowers and bushes. There are many ponds and fountains, as well as two large artificial lakes that draw hundreds of waterbirds in for a rest. Statuary lies along the winding footpaths - depicting heroes of legend as well as leaders from the city's past.
• Saberfang Hall: Once a mighty pride in their own right, the Saberfangs were renowned warriors and beast hunters, and members of the pride told tall tales of the great monsters they fought. In the modern Pridelands, the Saberfangs hold little political power, but their name has become synonymous with the guild of monster hunters who bear it. Less than 10% of the Saberfang Guild members actually belong to the pride, and only half are leonin. Their greatest guildhall is here in Lyari. It's a sprawling complex of bunkhouses, training dojos, and monster studies, located a brief walk's distance inside the western gates of the city.
