Swynn
Race intro
Hardy Folk
Though their stocky bodies, fat reserves, and thick limbs may make the swynn look clumsy and slow, underneath their skin lies an incredibly strong layer of muscle. They're hardy and capable physically - able to handle any kind of labor and tough out the harshest terrains and climates with relative ease. Despite the weight they carry, they're also rather quick footed, dashing right alongside other species on their cloven feet. Swynn are notoriously able to eat as much as a krodyl, arm wrestle a minotaur, and go toe-to-toe with a rillin in barehanded combat. Many swynn have short, frizzy hair in a variety of colors and patterns, though some grow much woolier coats or long bristly fur. Ear shape quickly shows one swynn where another is from - depending on home region they may have short, round ears, long floppy ears, or pointed triangle-shaped ears.Salt of the Earth
Swynn have a reputation for hard, manual work and brutal honesty. They commonly find jobs as farmers or ranchers, lumberjacks, miners, fishermen, stonecutters, and construction workers. The ease at which they can carry tools and materials, find a bite to eat wherever the job sends them, and deal with tough climates means they can edge out other species in these lines of work. Swynn are unusually sparse in cities compared to other species. Though swynn populations are found around the World, they're most heavily concentrated in rural villages and farmlands. Greater swynn culture is an amalgam of these villages, a culture dictated by the common folk. A swynn is expected to tell the truth at all times - being called a liar is a great offense - even when it may bring harm. The belief is that it's better to know bad truths than let them fester as secrets. Aid without reciprocity is encouraged as well, most swynn believe that good deeds come back around sooner than later.Boarbarians
Though many swynn find contentment in a simple life, this wasn't always the case. In the time before The Moot, swynn found themselves in a peculiar spot: carnivorous species would gladly eat them, but the swynn had realized they were tough enough to fight back. Tribes of swynn armed themselves with spears and axes and all other manner of weapons, building fortifications and digging trenches. When a hunting party of iruxi or leonin came looking for a quick meal, they'd instead find a band of boarriors ready for a fight. Many of these fierce tribes hammered their swords into plows after the Law of Speech was written, finding a peace in life that their ancestors couldn't. Some, however, found it too difficult to abandon their warrior culture, turning into raiders, pirates, and brigands. These fearsome swynn of the wilds still hold out in some remote parts of the World, facing any foe that comes their way as their ancestors once did. Table introd6 | Table |

With what can seem like total immunity to food spoilage, swynn are perfectly capable of eating scraps, old food, and just about anything they can forage. Of course, just because they can doesn't mean they like to. While they have strong stomachs, too many days in a row of eating bad food will cause milder versions of the same ailments other species experience. Most swynn have discerning noses and palettes, and would much prefer to eat fresh, hearty ingredients. Favorites in swynn cuisine: wheat and barley ales, pumpkins, mushrooms, nuts, dairy products, carp, eggs, and broccoli.Sidebar 2
