The Duke of Quandaries

God of Questions and Answers, Doorways and Decisions

Few welcome the presence of the Riddlemaster, for the arrival of the Duke of Quandaries means there are decisions to be made and drastic consequences await those who chose poorly. The god of questions and answers, doorways and decisions, the Duke of Quandaries should be an impartial confidante and aid when making choices in life. Being the trickster he is however, the Riddlemaster takes pleasure in giving bad advice and delights when the consequences of one's actions catch up to them. He offers good advice in equal parts to the bad and attempts to disguise which is which. Any boon from the Duke is a curse in disguise and any bane a blessing. Despite their perchance for bad advice and tricks the Duke of Quandaries holds himself to a standard. He will do his best to sway folks towards the worse decision but in the end he respects that the choice is yours and yours alone. The Duke also dislikes people who make uninformed decisions or spur of the moment choices; after all the sorrow from a bad decisions is much more pronounced when one has pained over the choices. Once a decision has been made the Duke attempts no further persuasions, and stays just long enough to observe the results. Rather then being true evil the Duke is more of a prankster, one who's pranks often end up getting people hurt.   The Duke is most often depicted as a short squat man in a plum purple suit with a matching top hat, bowtie and cane, although he has been known to change his guise to better mislead his target.   The symbol of the Duke of Quandaries is a doorway with three doorknobs or handles, each knob symbolizing a different path. The number of the Duke of Quandaries is 3. Lawful Evil domain
