Silverymoon

Silverymoon is a city located in the northwestern region of Faerun, in the heart of the Silver Marches. It is a beautiful and peaceful city, known for its elegant architecture, its magical enchantments, and its dedication to the arts and sciences. The city is a cosmopolitan haven for any creature in search of peace or knowledge, regardless of background or race for as long as their intentions remain pure, so it is not uncommon to see the occasional drow, kobbold or orc in the city.

Silverymoon is protected by several powerful magical wards that have been created over the centuries to safeguard the city from threats both internal and external. Most powerful is the Mythal, a powerful magical barrier that surrounds the city and extends several miles beyond its borders, that suppresses many kinds of harmful or dangerous magics, and affords considerable extra power to the magical defenders of the city, the Spellguard, who are attuned to it. The Mythal is maintained by the High Mage of Silverymoon, with assistance from the other trusted archmages in the city.
