Other Info

Iona is completely blind and has severe hearing loss. She is bonded to Taki, a crow which has had an unusually long lifespan as he is bound to Iona as essentially a familiar. Iona can see through Takis eyes and hear what Taki hears. Iona uses her sensitive antennae to figure out what else is going on around her (especially when Taki is not around). She developed slowly and is mostly illiterate due to not being able to see the words written (Taki isn’t interested in sitting around for that) and a lack of braille reading sources (and teachers). Her family and community did not notice her difficulties seeing and hearing for a long while due to Taki’s assistance and were not as supportive as they could have been. Iona typically prefers the company of animals because there are not as many social rules and nuances of communication to navigate as with people.

Taki

Is a crow of 19 years old who is a mischievous soul and very fond of Iona (which is good because they are bound).

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Likes/Dislikes: Taki, shiny things (they’re use is irrelevant), food (isn’t picky), flying (when assisted). She likes nature and animals of all types.
She dislikes fancy and formal occasions but loves a chance to dress up for fun only as people make fun of her style (crows see colors differently and are therefore unhelpful for color matching).
