Rainstones
At one point far from commonplace in the wider world, Arventiri rainstones are seeing increased use in other countries, particularly in areas where surface water is difficult to come by. These masterpieces of arcane engineering typically sport at least four layered enchantments on them: first is the enchantment that allows them to levitate in mid-air, second is the enchantment that anchors them relative to the pool of water that they stand over, third is the enchantment that allows them to draw water up from beneath the earth, and fourth is the enchantment that allows them to draw and condense moisture from the air to minimize water loss due to evaporation. Because of the confluence of conditions in the Pāll-tanír, the desert continent is uniquely suited to using the rainstones to their fullest potential, but that is not to say that other areas might not make good use of them, as well.Ilirituq, rainstone in Arventiri (Language), are large crystals of Arcanite used primarily in Arventiri (Ethnicity) settlements on the Pāll-tanír. These crystals are not only considered a cultural treasure, they are also play a vital role in ensuring that life can happen in the Pāll-tanír despite the inhospitable conditions as in many places they are the only source of the most precious substance to the people of the Pāll-tanír: water.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Rainstones collect ambient energy from a large area, using that energy to feed the four enchantments that make them work the way that they are supposed to. As they absorb so much arcane energy from such a large distance, one of the side-effects of using rainstones is that magic becomes more difficult to use around them as practitioners of the arcane arts are forced to rely on their internal reserves of arcane energy due to the ambient energy all being drawn into the rainstone.
Significance
Without arcanite, Arventiri civilization as it is today would not be possible.
Rarity
Though arcanite is rather commonplace on Sekhar, crystals the size required to make an effective rainstone are exceedingly rare, found only at the Font of Life, the most remote, central location of the northern region of the Pāll-tanír where large arcanite deposits grow as a consequence of the frequent Arventir that sweep through the area.
