Severa Railway

The Severa Railway, also occasionally referred to as the Quan Ma express, is a direct railway that cuts through the Severa Wastes to reach Quan Ma. The railway runs from Mkarza in Oulm Thermes, to Quan Ma in the heart of the Severa Wastes, to Kato Kamila in Bayir.

Discovery

It's unknown when the railway was built, but based on the technological level of the tracks it's likely around 1000 years old. The tracks were lost following the devolution of the Severa Wastes driving most people in the region out (or killing them) and leaving the railway to degrade over time.
The tracks were rediscovered in 2363 after the fourth settlers of Quan Ma lay down their roots in the ruins of the third Quan Ma. An abandoned train was also discovered several miles south, off of the rails. Previous records of Quan Ma having been lost to time, it wasn't possible for the settlers to figure out exactly when the tracks were laid, but they were able to be somewhat repaired into (relative) working order. The tracks were unable to be fully upgraded however, preventing any modern trains from being able to run along them. The train that was discovered was repaired and placed back onto the tracks. It is the only train that runs along the railway and faces frequent stops and breakages.
