There are very few organic famous movie stars or musicians worldwide due to the entertainment industry, especially the film industry, increasingly relying on synthetic actors - deep-fakes, CGI, etc.
Film
By using synthetic people as actors in film it allows producers to diversify their cast by creating the perfect look for a character without having to settle for an actors appearance. More significantly, however, is that use of synthetic celebrities has turned being an actor from a coveted career to a white-collar job significantly cutting the costs spent by studios in order to cast a particularly famous or well known actor in a film.
Actors are still hired to perform in movies, however rather than playing the character themself screen actors are more similar to puppets. An actor will audition, be cast, rehearse, and perform as usual - however in the final product of the film the actors face and body are deep-faked or changed using CGI. Oftentimes, given the advancement of voice synthesizers, their voices are also replaced by synthetic voices which are mapped onto the actors voice to mimic their cadence and delivery. In most cases, the only proof of an actors involvement in a film is their name in the credits.
In big budget stage plays, actors are often robotics.
Organic Film
Organic Film is a film genre wherein the entire cast is played by organic people, without the use of CGI or deep fakes to alter the actors appearance. Large studios almost never release organic films, most organic films are created by independent studios. Organic film is considered to be very artistic and bold, though monetarily impractical.
Music
While the music industry also participates in using inorganic talent, the music industry primarily relies on the use of
Robotic talent rather than digital talent. This is for the same reason as why the film industry relies on digital talent; it costs significantly less money, and there's never a risk of a talent dropping your label for another. Unlike in the film industry however, rather than relying on digital talent the music industry primarily relies on robotic talent.
Although the technology is more than satisfactory enough to create a deep fake artist and hologram concerts are quite popular among all age groups, the music industry prefers robotics because there is a lot of money to be made off of meet and greets and similar fan gathering events. While robotic musical voices are synthetic (due to all robotic voices being inherently synthetic) they're nearly indistinguishable from an organic voice.
History
The use of synthetic celebrities originally began in
Le Veaux during a live musical performance by a musician who had passed away, using a hologram to make the performance as a tribute to the recently deceased artist. The technology quickly developed and had strong roots in Le Veaux and
Asortia due to the primary motivator behind the switch being the desire for large companies, labels, and studios to cut the costs of celebrity talent.
International Use
Le Veaux
The originator of digital synthetic talent, nearly all major studio or label film or musician is produced mostly (if not entirely) by synthetic talent. Being as money oriented as the nation is, this is primarily done for the purpose of cutting production costs.
Although Le Veaux created the synthetic talent, Riza perfected it using their superior technology. Before
Riza began using the technology, the only deep fakes being used were of real people - Riza allowed for photo-realistic deep fakes be made of people that never existed.
Balamelle is evenly split between use of organic and synthetic talent. Although there are few major studios and record labels out of Balamelle, some independent film creators prefer organic film for the artistic value, whereas others prefer synthetic talent in order to allow them to perfectly capture their vision.
The Balam music industry, however, is nearly entirely organic. While there are benefits to both organic and synthetic film for independent creators, the reliance on robotics as musicians is one that benefits only large record labels seeking to cut costs - something that doesn't occur in the artistic Balamelle wherein major record labels have very little influence on the music culture.
Predating Le Veaux developing digital synthetic talent,
Yankovo Perovye had already begun using robotics in films and television, though usually not to replace organic actors. Early use of robotics in media were in low budget children's programming. Yankovo Perovye still uses robotics in media, however not anywhere near to the same extent as other nations due to the robotics in Yankovo Perovye still being relatively primitive in comparison - they don't pass well enough as organic people to replace them in a visual medium. -
Despite the massive film industry in
Jenarus, Jenari studios rarely use synthetic talent if ever. Jenarus' film industry has historically relied on name recognition of talent rather than marketing films based on IP, the success on classic Jenari films largely hinged on who played leading roles. Because of this precedent although costs would be significantly cut by using synthetic talent, the lack of a well recognized name could single-handedly cause a film to flop. It is beneficial to Jenari studios to cast recognized organic actors.
The farthest Jenarus goes with using synthetic talent is to create an inhumanoid creature, or to slightly adjust an actors appearance in ways such as aging them up and down.
Independent Creators
Because of synthetic talent dominating the market, the historically traditional routes of fame have become largely obsolete in most nations outside of Jenarus. Organic talent does, however, thrive in places where large companies don't loom - independent content creators. People such as independent musicians, independent film actors, local theater productions, online content creators, and so on are largely organic people (and occasionally sapient robotics).
