Aasimar

"In my observations of the Aasimar, I am continually awed by their celestial heritage and the grace it imparts upon them. These beings, touched by the divine, walk among us with an air of quiet dignity and a latent power that speaks of their otherworldly connections. Whether they embrace their celestial legacy or struggle against it, each Aasimar is a living bridge between the mortal world and the higher realms, a reminder of the intricate tapestry that weaves together the various threads of existence in our world."

Origins and Nature  Aasimar are beings touched by the divine, often believed to be the offspring of mortals and celestial entities. Their presence in Eroth, particularly in the cities and countryside, is a relatively recent phenomenon, coinciding with the return of the deities to our world. These celestial beings embody human form yet carry within them a spark of the divine, which manifests in various ethereal traits.

Types of Aasimar

  • Protector Aasimar: Guardians by nature, they often feel a compelling urge to defend the innocent. Protectors are known to have a physical manifestation of their celestial power during times of great need, radiating a comforting light.
  • Scourge Aasimar: These are the crusaders against evil, carrying a burning light within them. This inner fire can be unleashed to smite their foes, though it often comes at a personal cost.
  • Fallen Aasimar: Those who have strayed from their celestial path, either by choice or circumstance. They exude an aura of sorrow or malevolence, and their powers, though formidable, often have a darker aspect.

Appearance

Aasimar bear a striking appearance, with features that hint at their otherworldly heritage. This can include unusual eye colors, such as gold or silver, or even glowing; skin that occasionally shimmers in certain light; or a voice that resonates with a barely perceptible echo. Their celestial lineage often gives them an inherent grace or presence.

Abilities and Traits

Apart from their physical manifestations, Aasimar possess innate abilities linked to their divine heritage. This includes a natural propensity for healing, the ability to emit light, and in some cases, celestial combat capabilities. Their celestial guide – a voice or presence only perceivable to them – offers counsel, guiding them towards their destiny.

Culture and Integration

Aasimar do not have a culture of their own, as they are born to human parents. Their upbringing and surroundings greatly influence their identity. While they tend to integrate well into human societies, their otherworldly nature often sets them apart, leading many to a life of travel or adventure, seeking a purpose that aligns with their celestial calling.

Role in Eroth

In the current era of Ro'Kroya, Aasimar are seen as symbols of hope or omens of significant events, given their divine connection. Many are drawn to roles as leaders, healers, or champions of causes, reflecting their inner light and purpose.
