Giant Space Hamster
Space Hamster Family
Giant space hamsters are exactly what they sound like - enormous but cute rodents with thick fur. They come in a variety of colors, but are usually golden brown with white underbellies, bands and spots. They did not evolve naturally, but were instead created by Krynnish tinker gnomes who continue to experiment on them. Their extreme mutability and short reproductive cycle means there are numerous variants and sub-species adapted for just about any environs their gnomish handlers wish to reside in.Ecology
Omnivorous, but generally docile, space hamsters subsist off what ever plant material they can get their paws on. They do not hunt, but they are not above scavenging or eating giant insects. Space hamsters are not particularly social. Domesticated Hamsters can tolerate being grouped in herds of about 6 but ones that have gone feral are usually loaners that only congregate for mating and rearing pups.
