Qal Joharge

Sitting amongst the slaves you notice one who doesn't appear to be local to Ibini, or for that matter even to Lucarcia. Like all of the slaves he looks thin and ragged, but unlike the others he doesn't appear to be weak. Something about him suggests an inner strength which hasn't been broken, merely kept under wraps.   On the occasions when you get a chance to talk what he says is usually short and to the point; almost as if he is saving his energy. The little you have managed to discover is that he is from far away and was/is a monk.
Backstory
Orphaned at a young age Qal's early life was spent learning to survive in the shadier parts of Littlebrook in The Kingdom of Albion. He was saved from a life of petty larceny when he was found by monks from the Monastery of the West Winds. Life at the monastery was hard and austere, but provided a sense of order and belonging unlike life on the streets.   As he grew Qal was taught the ways of the monks and drawing on his early life began to learn The Way of the Shadow. On his maturity he was sent out into the wider world to travel further afield in the search for knowledge that could be added to the Monastery's records.   Travelling ever eastward he reached Nargastan. He joined a caravan headed for Athena which was attacked. Surviving the attack he found himself captured and sold into slavery.
