Session 02
General Summary
Deciding that the root of the problems of the goblin vandals was possibly Orak's Bathhouse, and
Gotrek being a fellow dwarf, they sent him in to check the place out. However nothing weird
seemed to be going on. Orak seemed a busy dwarf with a business to run and not some bedeviled
soul. Still, the party were not convinced of his innocence.
They set up a watch over the Bathhouse into the night, watching long after it had closed at
midnight. Sure enough, late into the night as the fog came down, the door to the Bathhouse opened
fertively and Orak peeked out. Seeing no one there he ducked back inside the Bathhouse and
moments later a small group of perhaps half a dozen goblins snuck out into the foggy night.
The party immediately set upon them, killing two before the goblins even knew what had hit them.
Unfortunately the goblins were quick little blighters and the other four fled into the fog before the
party could stop them.
Morgan, seeing that Orak had shut the door to the Bathhouse, stepped up and kicked the door in.
The party swarmed in and moments later Orak was overpowered. They knocked him unconscious,
tied him up, and took him to his back office where they searched him and his office for clues.
They didn't find anything of the sort but did find a key to the locked door in the Bathhouse. Harley
checked it and sure enough it opened the only locked door which lead to a stagnant smelling
staircase leading into the darkness. Concerned about returning goblins being at their back the party
brought Orak to the top of the stairs and locked the door behind them. They then proceeded down
into the darkness, Gotrek who could see in the dark at the front.
They emerged into some sort of underground complex. Gotrek told them it was definitely an old
dwarven construction. They soon heard sounds of raucous goblin laughter echoing through the
corridors and before they had searched more than a room or two they had alerted the goblin
guards. All hell broke loose.
The goblins came upon them in waves, flooding from their bedrooms and barracks in a tide of
howling glee. For the most part there were goblin skirmishers with little morning stars and shields.
These were fairly easily mashed by the heroes of Magma Force. But alongside them were a few
goblin sneaks, dressed in dark cloaks and with sharp daggers, these stealthy goblins appeared out
of nowhere and struck hard and fast. They were easily killed when caught but seeing them coming
was tough. As if that wasn't bad enough there were also two goblin adepts who wielded strange
magic of the goblin gods and threw fire and lightning at the heroes. And finally there came a
Silent Wolf Goblin. Riding a huge monstrous worg this goblin fired arrows into the melee from
wolk back and then when his skirmishers were nearly all dead he rode into melee on the back of
his worg.
During the latter part of this huge melee another Silent Wolf Goblin arrived on the scene, riding
another giant worg. Instead of joining in the battle though, this goblin sat and watched, his worg
pacing back and forth, anxious to enter the fray. But this goblin kept him back. As the battle
waned the party were left facing only the last Silent Wolf Goblin who was fighting them and then
finally they slayed him and brought his worg beast to the ground too.
At this the watching worg rider screamed a blood curding cry and turned his worg around and
rode off into the darkness, deeper into the complex, his worg's loud howls echoing down the
corridors...
