Session 17
General Summary
Time to exit the temple. There was a small antechamber before the main doors. A small band of
cultists prowled it, clearly ordered to prevent escape from the temple. A hag commanded three
hulking brutes. Valun eased the door aside, Dash filled the room with a hail of arrows and the
others advanced.
Argus grabbed the attention of the hulks, who happily battered him to within an inch of his life.
But that�s what friends with healing powers are for. Meanwhile the hag found herself heavily
focussed on. As usual, the gladiators cut their way through the cultists like a knife through hot
butter.
Shinobi peered out through the main temple doors. The usually-thriving grand plaza was now a
scene of utter carnage. Many cultists were visible, along with the portals they must have arrived
through. Amongst the cultists were two fearsome trolls. Most importantly, there was Lareth! He
had a bound figure at his feet � Sister Valerius. Time for action!
The doors were thrown open, Dash and Mika blasting the cultists from afar, they dropped like
flies. Everyone advanced down the temple�s wide stairs, except Dash who tucked himself in
cover in the doorway. Mika suffered a barrage of necrotic magic from Lareth which stopped him
in his tracks. Argus and Shinobi headed for Lareth at top speed as Dash continued to decimate the
cultists. This left Valun vulnerable to the trolls and he soon found himself surrounded.
Then Dash had some bad news to report, yet more cultists were heading out of the temple. Riya
used her cunning artifice to somehow extricate Dash and Valun from in the midst of the trolls and
to a safer location. She shot one of the trolls and then Mika arrived to engage the other. All the
while, Argus and Shinobi had occupied Lareth such that he was unable to use his trickery and
most powerful spells.
Finally the combined efforts dropped Lareth to the floor! Could this be the turning point of the
battle? The cultists looked dismayed, though the reinforcements Dash had seen had just emerged
into the plaza. With ferocious trolls still to deal with, the fight was not yet over�
