Session 7
General Summary
Delving deeper into Callindrill's Tomb, the party discovered and opened four chambers, each
marked with the symbol of air, fire, earth and water. Inside these they recovered many grave
goods and finally found a way into the central chamber with an ornate golden sarcophagus.
Around this sarcophagus lay many items of great power. The group recovered these and then
opened the sarcophagus to reveal an old mummified body, apparently inert. Finding no sign of the
Key of Seven Stars the group began to suspect this was a dummy tomb and started an extensive
search. Sure enough they soon located a secret door which led to another tomb. Here they found
the real body of the arch mage Callindrill. Opening his tomb they found him to be in a state of
undeath but fortunately for the party this creature was unable to bring to bear all the powers he
held in life and they fairly easily defeated him.
The creature's heart was a ruby which fitted neatly into a niche along the back wall. Placing the
ruby in the niche they were amazed to find the walls of the tomb becoming insubstantial and
suddenly the mist cleared and they found themselves high up in a mountain range that Tor
believed was The Jagged Peaks. Ahead of them was a black spire rising out of the floor and a deep
dark tunnel led towards it.
The tower was made of a black stone that Traubon was unable to identify and had no obvious
entrances or exits. The only way in seemed to be the tunnel. Inside the tunnel were many skeletons
of animals and humanoids. Traubon carefully examined the area and declared it to be magically
trapped with some kind of contact poison. Traubon used a scroll they had recovered from
Callindrill's Tomb and gave the barbarian the power of flight. He carried the rogue down the
corridor where they bumped into a invisible door. By passing this door with his supernatural
ability to move between dimensional spaces, Kai got behind it and opened it for everyone and then
Tor ferried them all back and forth whilst flying. The party were in the lower basement of the
tower.
They made their way up the 5 levels of the tower from the bottom. There was very little of interest
in the tower, expect for the 4th level with housed a woman who called herself Melissa. She said
she was bound here by Callindrill and was a mage of some power who had lost a wager with the
arch mage over a contest of magic many years ago. Though he was dead his binding held true.
Little did the party realize she was actually a demon in disguise. Soon enough she attacked the
party through subtle means, controlling Flek and Tor and getting them to attack the others. The
rest of the group just managed to kill her and her control over the two warriors was broken.
At the top of the tower the group found a misty archway that was a gate into another realm. As
one they stepped through the gate together...
