Daidoji Etsuko

Born female, Etsuko's blood is tainted by the Nothing and at the day of her Gempukku, her physicality switched to male. While they are unsure which gender they are now, they serve on the Empress Guard, an elite woman Crane unit. They also have an alter-ego, Bayushi Etsuya, created for them by the Empress herself as they navigate finding out who they want to be.

Etsuko is a powerful warrior and a Kolat hunter of some renown who won the Topaz Championship when they were thirteen.
