Hanaman
Hanaman is more of a beast than a man. Born in the Ivory Kingdoms, Hanaman served as one of the royal guard to the King. He was blessed by not one, but three gods, and has single-handedly pushed the forces of the Ghostlands back with his personal might. He was sent to the Empire as an emissary and a hostage shortly into the formal negotiations for open trade, and stood in Empress Izamiya's personal court as her children came of age.
When Second Prince Jiro disappeared and ended up somewhere in the plains above evil, it was Hanaman who went to rescue him. The walk home gave them plenty of time to get to know one another, and while Hanaman was his senior by a decade and a half, Jiro quickly became smitten with the heroic warrior. Hanaman, ever a fan of attention, noticed the strange poetry and writing Jiro was scribbling down, and it didn't take long into the second prince's awkward flirtation before Hanaman took full advantage of the situation.
Their relationship is strictly taboo and unsanctioned, and when Jiro was appointed chancellor of the second city under his brother's orders when he became Emperor Toturi V, Hanaman acted as his second hand. Hanaman never got married, and Jiro was for a short time, producing two children before she died. While the death was of natural causes, Jiro married an Otomo woman of weak constitution and a terminal illness with the intent of not having to be married long.
These two children are raised by Hanaman and Jiro, although their relationship is not acknowledged in any official capacity.
