Mavinda speaks somewhat archaically using words like "thee" and "shall". In her first year at Strixhaven, she got lost in the Scriptoria and it took two days to find her. She now recommends everyone bring some rations with them when they wander the caverns.Year 1 Involvement
Mavinda Sharpbeak walked into the Hall of Oracles during orientation nursing a hurt and bandaged wing. The wound had only gotten worse by the time Mistake interviewed for a position at the Biblioplex. She explained the wound was a bite that couldn’t be healed through magical means, and the eldritch balm from Professor Verelda Lang had made things worse instead of better. Mavinda was initially surprised by Mistake’s desire to be a shelver, and explained that the role had been given to clockwork servants and was printed in error. Yet Mistake wanted to work in the library and all the other roles were too people-facing, so Mavinda gave her the job nonetheless to not discourage the new student. After taking a few weeks off to recover, Mavinda returned to work in much better health. Professor Lang and other staff had discovered the corruption in the eldritch balm and were able to treat Mavinda’s wounds with what remained of the uncorrupted batch. Though the F Squad never confirmed it with Mavinda herself, they learned enough to determine her wound was from a mage hunter.
