The Nuren Aza Laboratory
Creator of DNA splicing and an array of other dubious scientific procedures, but also the home of some of the brightest minds on the planet.
Structure
Most scientists who work at the lab have a similar rank, although there are assistant scientists and head scientists on the lower and upper end of the power spectrum, respectively. Assistant scientists are not permitted into many of the rooms in the laboratory, most importantly the ones containing dangerous experiments, both as a safety precaution and as a way to protect the lab and government's secrets. Head scientists don't have much more power than the regular ones, although they are allowed to make the occasional executive decision or create their own projects and experiments (with the approval of the government)/
Public Agenda
On the exterior, the lab is championing it's research into some of the diseases that have popped up around the continent, more specifically Nuren Aza itself.
Assets
Since it is a branch of the Nuren Aza Settlement, which is extremely wealthy, the lab has a whole arsenal of scientific supplies in it's hands. Their funding is almost on level with the army itself, only because of how important to the government the experiments going on there are. While it has one main building, there are a couple of side buildings attached to it and a handful of outposts across the city and the outer limits. There is also a specific branch of the army assigned to protecting the lab itself and bringing in "recruits" for the lab's experiments.
History
The lab only began to exist after Nuren Aza had been thriving for about a hundred years. It was originally created for generally benevolent purposes, trying to find cures for smaller diseases and finding out the correlation between flowers and the Canlesiz they produce. A team of scientists from this lab were actually the first ones to really dive into how the genetics of magic work and how certain combinations of genetics can create all new abilities that hadn't been seen before. It was only after about 300 years that the lab had become almost completely corrupted. Their experiments became more dangerous and immoral, and they began to kidnap many people to feed their supply of subjects. In the year 834, they discovered the first Canlesiz with pure black eyes (which means the person has almost complete control over all the different abilities), and proceeded to kidnap and study people like this before sending them off to the army.
