The Scaled Inferno is home to three main races: Dragonborn, lizardfolk, and kobolds. The lizardfolk are the original inhabitants of the Scaled Inferno, and they live on and around the Ebony Doom. The Dragonborn were once neighbours of the lizardfolk, but their cities were destroyed in the Third Great War(which never happened) and they were forced to join the lizardfolk on the volcano. The kobolds are a servant race to the lizardfolk and Dragonborn, and they came to the Scaled Inferno after being decimated in the Forth Great War.
The government of the Scaled Inferno is a republic known as the Scaled Republic, which is dominated by the lizardfolk. However, it is described as a "banana republic," suggesting that it is unstable. Dragonborn used to be neighbours/rivals but all of their cities were destroyed in the third great war(unfounded as there was no third great war) and thus they capitulated to the Lizardfolk's demands and joined them which has the unfortunate side effect of putting closer to the dragons they despise.
Kobolds came on bended knee to the Scaled Inferno after their utter decimation in the Fourth Great War they swore eternal servitude to the Scaled inferno, which the lizardfolk were ok with as after they moved in the dragons are a lot less testy and volatile having dedicated servants.
